Tenacious, Compassionate, and Beloved Daughter of the King. These are a few of the many words describing Alisha Scroggins, a proud Wildcat basketball fan and Kentucky native. Upon completion of dual bachelor’s degrees at Morehead State University, Alisha moved to the foothills of Virginia, where she served for three years as a middle school teacher and residential supervisor at Christian based children’s home called Mountain Mission School. After a sudden diagnosis of several complex medical conditions at only 24 years old, she moved to Roanoke, where she soon became solely dependent on a tube for nutrition. Launching a blog and YouTube channel entitled Mess 2 Masterpiece from her hospital room, Alisha refuses to let her diagnoses define her. Rather, she has grown even more compelled to share her story of brokenness to beauty, rescuing others from the deep valleys she once found herself in. Continuing to gain experience and wisdom far beyond her years, each spoken and written word is crafted with authenticity, hope, and grace, pointing to the true love and identity one can only find in the Lord. Alisha has published several articles on the topic of eating disorder recovery for A Place for Healing in Bristol, Tennessee, including “Roots” and “The Real Me.” In her spare time, Alisha enjoys spending time outdoors, listening to her favorite podcasts and tunes, as well as baking sweets for those she loves.
