The Untold Story

Reading of the poem

“You either walk inside your story and own it, or you stand outside your story and hustle for your worthiness” ~Brene Brown~

For years, I gazed into my story as if looking through a window. Instead of seeing actions and people for what and who they were, it was as if I were wearing 3-D glasses or stumbling through a “fun house” at a carnival, telling myself the fairy tale all little girls dream… Still, no stuffing, striving, nor silencing could hide my story screaming inside me.

Thus, with the Lord lighting the way and the help of my incredible counselors, we have been going back into those walls to face reality.  Tapping into the depths of events and words buried deep beneath my subconscious has been more painful than I imagined possible. Although it is through this process, the Lord is transforming my pain into purpose and increasing the conviction that my story is not merely for me.

Just as Rick Warren says, “Other people are going to find healing in your wounds. Your greatest life messages and your most effective ministry will come out of your deepest hurt.”

Therefore, the poem is merely a first step in sharing my untold story…. Will you take a leap of courage and join me in opening your eyes to truly see? You are never alone and so dearly loved. And I promise, as it says in John 8:32, “the truth will set you free.”

~Much love and prayers always, Alisha~

    1. Thank you so much! Yes! Others need to know they are not alone! Praying for continued courage and that you may give yourself grace in the process of penning each word, as well as a hedge of protection around you as you write!
